Two security guards were shot while controlling the mob of people who were rushing the gates outside

Birmingham, England. According to police reports, the incident happened at the front gate of the NEC Arena around the 10 pm while the guards were preventing unauthorized access for people who have no ticket for the concert.
Sarah Kirby, the spokesperson of West Midland Police, said that an altercation occurred between the security guards and a man who wants to get in the arena without a ticket. Several gun shots were fired. One of the guards who incurred a critical wound was transported to the nearest hospital for treatment. The other one, who didn’t seem to have been seriously wounded, was discharged after receiving the
necessary medical attention. A 20 year old woman and a 21 year old man, whose identity was left anonymous, have been taken in custody by the police for questioning. The police are still unsure if the man they have detained was the one responsible for the shooting. According to a witness, after the gunshots were fired, three individuals started to run away from the scene of the incident.
